Zustand: Hervorragend. Zustand: Hervorragend | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | Diet and physical activity are important components of a healthy lifestyle that influence the parameters that determine metabolic syndrome. Treatments of metabolic syndrome elucidate the biology or pharmacology of metabolic disorders. The pathophysiology underlying obesity and METS involves genetic predisposition, dietary habits, lifestyle choices, and environmental exposures. New knowledge of the risk of METS to CVD will allow individuals within the society to make an informed lifestyle choice given the dynamics of cardiovascular diseases masked by indigenous knowledge systems in other sectors of the society. When a mother is obese and consumes a high-fat diet, her offspring may experience hyperphagia and become more susceptible to fat deposition. It is anticipated that the findings will not only enhance the understanding of metabolic health but also pave the way for tailored approaches to bridge the gap between dietary choices and optimal gut microbial balance in the context of prediabetes.
Hardcover. Zustand: new. Hardcover. The University of Limpopo (UL), through the Ellisras Longitudinal Study Group in the Department of Physiology and Environmental Health, organized and hosted the 3rd Ellisras Longitudinal Study (ELS) and Other Non-Communicable Diseases Studies International Conference (ELSONCDSIC), from22 to 24 November 2022 at the UL and Kitty Village, South Africa. The aim of the 3rd ELSONCDSIC was to provide a unique and inclusive platform for discussion welcoming ordinary members of the Ellisras community, expert scholars, students and experienced professionals from all over the world, thereby offering a diverse and compelling international networking experience. In addition, hard copies of PHASHASHA newsletters were distributed to the community. The content of the PHASHASHA newsletter is rooted in the major findings of the ELS and other NCDs studied across the globe. The practice of relying on indigenous knowledge systems to combat NCDs amongst rural South African populations should be replaced by well-researched models of NCD profiles. The indigenous knowledge system, which plays a significant role in the lives of the rural South African population, was enriched with scientific evidence. This item is printed on demand.
