The book was published and sold by Uriah Hunt. The book's binding is well worn leather covered boards, still intact. The backstrip is still intact and shows vertical cracking of the leather binding. Gilt lettering, "Ainsworth's Dictionary" is imprinted on a black background at top of backstrip. The Front free endpapers are missing and the rear free endpapers consist of one intact and half of the other still attached. There is writing on the FEP, Title page and the front "Advertisement To The London Edition" page. The interior pages have some foxing, but no writing and no underlining with the exception of the endpapers already mentioned.
