Jacket is matt finish, has the usual handling grime by the spine, edge wear and corner nicks. Mudrick was a well-known literary critic writing primarily for the Hudson Review, but also the New York Review of Books and Harper's. He taught most of his life at UC Santa Barbara and was provost until 1984. This is a collection of essays on literature, and on life.
