Celui-ci est connu pour avoir développé, avec Verick, plusieurs instruments de son invention dont un Hémochromomètre partculièrement perfectionné.Ici, il étudie l'optique de la chambre claire : inventée par Wollaston au début du XIXe siècle, elle prolifera en Angleterre grâce à Milne Edwards, puis en France après celle des Oberhauser et Chevalier, grâce à lbert Nachet.Malassez propose afin de corriger les déformations produites par la chambre claire d'introduire, sous la feuille à dessiner ,une "planchette inclinée" de sa construction ou bien d'utiliser la tablette de Kanckel d'Herculaire, mais modifiée par ses soins.Parfait exemplaire, intact.
