Very scarce.… Uniformly bound in an attractive quarter marbled crushed morocco, with marbled paper covered boards and endpapers. Bound with the original wraps. Silk page markers. From Swiss daily newspaper the Journal de Genève, this work collects various original documents pertaining to the early moments of the First World War, including the Belgian negotiations, King Albert I's speeches, a statement by Sir. Ed Grey in the House of Commons, and a statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Bonnard, not credited other than his presentation inscription, was a lawyer, journalist and politician from Vaud. From 1910 to 1917 he was editor-in-chief of the Journal deGenève. Uniformly bound in an attractive quarter marbled crushed morocco, with marbled paper covered boards and endpapers.Externally, very smart, with minor fading and shelf wear to the spine. Bookplate of Edouard de Bavier to the front paste downs. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with toning to the original wraps and the odd spot.
