Hardcover. Zustand: Good. Hazel Sibbitt. (illustrator). 1st Edition. Unpaginated [20pp] Printed by the Curwen Press on cheap war time paper, this book being printed just after the war circa 1945. Illustrated in colour & tonal period pictures by Hazel Sibbitt. Bound in Blue pictorial paper covered boards, these have chipped off at the spine showing the canvas underneath, worn at extremities. Inside the text and illustrations clear and bright throughout however there is an old horizontal crease mark on the title page& first page of text. Story about a princess and her pet dragon called Gerald. An acceptable copy of a scarce book. Size 9.5 x 7.5 inches.

Dust jacket is age-toned and edgeworn with tearing to lower edges and spine; illustrated boards are also edgeworn and bumped; binding is tight; pages are crisp and unmarked with bright illustrations. Overall, this is a very good copy with no internal markings from previous owners. ; 7.4 x 0.2 x 9.5 inches; Unpaginated pages.

First edition. Original brown cloth with gilt titles to the upper board, in dustwrapper. Illustrated throughout with autolithographs in colour and black and white by Suzanne Einzig. A very good copy, the binding firm, the cloth a little rubbing at the extremities, the gilt with very slight fading. The contents, with a couple of spots early pages, are otherwise clean and without stamps or inscriptions. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked, price-clipped dustwrapper which is lightly toned to the spine and slightly spotted on the rear panel, with a short closed tear to the bottom edge of the front flap fold and another to te head of the spine, the latter of which has been repaired to the underside with a small piece of tape. The first book to be illustrated by Suzanne Einzig, who went on to illustrate Phillippa Pearce's acclaimed 'Tom's Midnight Garden' which won the Carnegie medal in 1959, as well many other books and magazines. An amusing, rhyming tale about a little girl who wants to play in the sand despite wearing smart shoes and being watched by her ten strict aunts.
