Hardcover. Zustand: Fair. No Jacket. New Edition. Brown blind stamped cover with fancy gilt designs. The yellow front endpapers are missing, and there's a chance a small section at the front may either be missing, or it was produced this way, and the first text page is 57 (after several portrait illustrations). 2 3/4 inch cloth tear at the front top spine cover edge. Lightly bumped corner tips and fraying at the spine head. 9 3/4 x 6 1/2 with 376 plus 8 ads. Scarce.

With full page plates. A chronological encyclopaedia of English Literature from the 'earliest times to the second half of the nineteenth century.
