In den Warenkorbnear fine dust-jacket, attractive copy, very good large gray hardcover, appears little used if at all. INSCRIBED in white ink on top of front endpaper map, to recipient with first name only, Enjoy, and SIGNED Judy Patrick. PATRICK, JUDY P. Arctic oil: photographs of Alaska's North Slope. Anchorage, Alaska: Judy Patrick Photograp…hy, 2014, 144pp., . Pretty incredible large color photographs, especially stunning light, sunsets and sunrises over machinery and nature. - Judy Patrick decided at age twelve to become a photographer, although she barely knew one end of a camera from the other. But by the time she graduated from high school in Yucaipa, California, she had taken every photography course her high school and the local college had to offer. In 1981 she came to Alaska to spend the summer cooking on a fishing boat. She met her husband during that time and decided to make Alaska her home. Three years later, she started her photography business in Wasilla, doing black-and-white film processing and shooting everything from cars to weddings. After documenting the construction of the road to Red Dog Mine in the late 1980s, she decided to specialize in industrial photography. Patrick made her first trip to Prudhoe Bay in 1989. Exposed to the oil industry for the first time, she was fascinated by the landscape of drilling rigs and giant facilities, as well as the remoteness of the place. Little did she know she would be photographing "the Slope" from one end to the other for the next 20-plus years. ISBN 9780989577991.
