Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book puts Jacques Jordaens, a Flemish painter of the 17th century, under the microscope. Jordaens, a contemporary of Rubens and Van Dyck, has been largely overlooked until recent times, despite being a pioneer in his field and inspiring modern-day artists. The author, an art historian, has meticulously researched Jordaens' life and work, using documentation, paintings, and other artworks to construct a complete picture of the artist's significance. Through analysis of Jordaens' paintings, the text provides an insight into his unique style, themes, and techniques. The author argues that Jordaens' influence on the development of painting is more far-reaching than previously thought, particularly his focus on expressing joy and everyday life. The book not only illuminates Jordaens' career but also offers a fresh perspective on the art of the 17th-century Netherlands. This insightful work is a must-read for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of this captivating painter and the rich artistic era in which he lived. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
