This copy has a terse presentation inscription by Laughlin on the first leaf: "JR/JL 1973." The recipient was the poet Jerome Rothenberg. At the time of the inscription Rothenberg and Laughlin were working on bringing out Rothenberg's Poland: 1931 (1974), the first of at least a dozen books he would publish with Laughlin's New Directions imprint. Foxing to edges, first and last few leaves as well as label; near vg.
