Zustand: Good. 1933. First Edition. 336 pages. No dust jacket. Brown illustrated cloth boards with lettering. Clean pages with light tanning and mild foxing throughout. More pronounced to free endpapers and pastedowns. Pen inscription to front pastedown. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces and bumping to corners. Lettering is bright and clear. Minor splits to spine ends and corners causing cloth to be frayed. Visible wear marks to boards.

Soft cover. Zustand: Good. Firmly bound, green cloth boards. Few marks on cover. Some marks on the end papers. No jacket forward lean to the binding.

Zustand: Good. 1945. 258 pages. Green pictorial dust jacket over green cloth with gilt lettering. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. The unclipped dust jacket has heavy edge wear, with tears, chips and areas of loss. Moderate tanning to spine and edges.

Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Sunning to spine.

Brings together carefully selected hands from important matches and brings out the salient points in each case - opposite each hand is a discussion of the lessons that can be learned from it.

Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st edition without dw in The Sports and Pastimes Library series. A very good, tight copy with slight sunning to the spine in dark green boards. The book gives an outline of how at least 50 games are played; some are more familiar whilst others are quite obscure. The authors are well-known in this field.

Zustand: Poor. A lot of dirty marks, a few small tears, creases and wear on jacket. Also some shelf wear on cover and foxing on outer edges of pages. Content is fine.
