Van Langendonck herhaalde telkens den wensch, van zijn werk een waardige uitgaaf te zien verschijnen. Hieraan hebben wij willen voldoen. Op enkele uitzonderingen na, die in een lijst achteraan vermeld worden, bevat dit boek, waarvan de tekst kritisch werd vastgesteld, al de verzen van Prosper Van Langendonck, benevens het proza, dat in tijdschriften verspreid lag, van inbegrip van het nog toe onuitgegevene, en toevoegingen van bibliographische aanteekeningen en varianten.
