Light leather of possibly a faux leather binding 7 1/2" tall stamped in gilt with two string ties at page foredge. Includes a 20 page pamphlet of historical notes by A. L. Rowse and Bibliographical notes by Robert O. Dougan. Both fit in the publisher's clamshell box lined with red velvet with paper labels of both title pages on front and back and authors' label on spine. Very nice. Fine condition.

Two important accounts of 16th century exploration: the first, Raleigh's account of the discovery of Guiana, was published in London in 1596; and the second, Galvano's account of the discoveries of the world, was also first published in London, in 1601.
