Paperback. Zustand: new. Paperback. This collection of thoughts or sixty shades of green, is my attempt to raise important environmental concerns specific to India. The issues discussed are however common across the World I started penning down these thoughts in the form of a blog since July 2014. Over the last 18 months I have posted around 90 articles, mostly, every Sunday morning. This book has a select set of 60 articles in celebration of my completing 60 years. The posts on the blog have been well received. Today there are close to 1200 followers and 30,000+ views. Several of these followers and friends suggested that I publish a compilation of these articles. Many said that these articles have thoughts and ideas that need to be widely shared. Also that the style of writing is different and refreshingly new to the environmental fraternity. This positive feedback encouraged me to publish this book. In all the articles, I use humor and satire to discuss various issues on environment using stories. Most of the "stories" I tell are not real. but created from my experiences and suitably crafted for the purpose of sharing. I hope to continue writing articles on the blog and I may bring out another collection of forty to make to 100 soon! This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Zustand: new. Paperback. This book is a collection of stories in the sustainability space sharing personal experiences and encounters in Authors life. This collection is the third publication of the Author based on his blogs. Through these stories and musings, the Author attempts to raise important environmental concerns that do not have easy answers. Sometimes, the Author relates to his experiences as an academician and consultant uses humor and satire to discuss various environmental issues. The messages are often hidden and Knowledge is embedded in an implicit manner. The book can therefore serve as additional reading material (as "light reading") for a graduate course on environmental management and sustainability. In his three decades of international work, the Author has been to places and met with people. In these encounters he has had extraordinary experiences that enriched his life. The stories take in these cases a form of a travelogue and share some of his memoirs. This makes the reading interesting as the stories are a blend of "blue" and "green" and appear like pebbles in "turquoise", scattered on a seashore! This item is printed on demand. Paperback. Zustand: new. Paperback. In my life, I have been fortunate enough to become a Professor, practice as a Consultant and establish an organization as an Entrepreneur. Furthermore, my proximity to the Government, International Development Financing Institutions and Corporates, gave me unique exposure and experience. Indeed, these multiple roles have helped me acquire a holistic perspective on environmental management and sustainability. My extensive travel across continents has added yet another dimension of professional and personal experience that I really cherish. I met amazing people as I globe trotted and made wonderful friends in this process. I started writing posts on my blog site since 2014. The focus of the posts was to raise issues of concern on environmental management and sustainability relevant to India. Today there are more than 1300 followers and more than 45000 views. Enthused by this response, I released a compilation of 60 select posts early this year captioned "SIXTY SHADES OF GREEN". This book has been well received. The second book presents 25 posts that reflect my personal experiences (I call them BLUE) and another 25 posts that continue to deal with issues regarding environmental management and sustainability (the GREEN). It is really hard to put the posts in the separate boxes such as GREEN and BLUE as there are several overlaps and intersects that represent various SHADES of BLUE and GREEN. In all the posts, like before, I use humor and satire and tell the "stories". Most of the 'stories' are not necessarily real . but created from my experiences and suitably crafted for the purpose of sharing. 'My Professor Friend' is a character I have created, essentially to provide another point of view. I simply adore this character and often wish that he was real! Sometimes I cite names of people, only to project "real world" and a feel of "authenticity". No offence is intended to anyone. And I do hope that the readers understand this perspective. The messages of the stories are the key takeaways. But these messages are often hidden. One of the characteristics of the posts is that while narrating these stories, knowledge is embedded in an implicit manner. Sometimes references are cited for further reading. The book could potentially be used as a supplement to a course on Environmental Management & Sustainability. Some of the posts could be used to open up group discussions or formulate assignments. I do hope that you enjoy this collection of 50 posts of the shades of BLUE and GREEN. This item is printed on demand.
