Neuware - Im Festjahr Bauhaus Dessau 100 wird mit Fritz Winter ein Maler in den Fokus gestellt, dessen künstlerische Entwicklung aufs Engste mit dieser Kunstschule der Moderne verbunden ist. Ausgehend von Arbeiten, die in seiner Studienzeit ab 1927 in Dessau entstanden und die Einflüsse des Unterrichts der Bauhausmeister - insbesondere Paul Klees - widerspiegeln, soll seine Entwicklung über die formalen Experimente der 1930er-Jahre bis hin zu den Werken der unmittelbaren Nachkriegszeit präsentiert werden. In den 1950er-Jahren war Winter zu einer der prägendsten Figuren der westdeutschen Nachkriegskunst avanciert und prominent auf den ersten documenta-Ausstellungen vertreten. Seine öffentliche Wahrnehmung war noch immer von seiner Herkunft aus dem Bauhaus bestimmt. In Dessau erhielt er aber nicht nur seine Ausbildung, mit dem Blonden Mädchen wurde 1928 auch erstmals eines seiner Werke von einem Museum angekauft.
