From the personal notes of not only an experienced general but also a British politician during the events of Napoleon's disastrous retreat from Moscow. Edited by his nephew and son-in-law Reverend Herbert Randolph, a British clergyman. With publisher's catalogue to the rear of volume two. In the original green cloth binding. Externally. smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spines with the odd small mark to the cloth. Internally, firmly bound. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages with the odd 'Malta Garrison Library' stamp to the front, and the odd spot, heavier to the front and rear.
