Extensive underlining and notes in text and on rear endpaper. Otherwise, the binding is tight. This 19th-century printing undated, ca. 1880s; contains the preface to the second edition. James Barr Walker (1805-1887) was a Congregational minister from Pennsylvania who taught at Oberlin College as well as the Chicago Theological Seminary.
