Single small folio sheet folded somewhat unevenly to four pages. Good condition with two extraneous fold marks. Cover illustration is a caricature of Gitz Rice in uniform playing a piano, by "the Collie." Inside two pages are the program for the Gambol; all cast members are male. Internal evidence establishes that this program was held in New York and was connected to the Broadway theater, and specifically to the Lambs' Club. Rice moved from Montreal to New York in 1919 to further his show-business career on the basis of the fame he won as a song writer while a Canadian officer in France during World War I. He probably acted as an accompanist for this performance. The Gambols were a periodic entertainment of the Lambs' Club. The "Collie" of the cover caricature was an office of the club, whose job it was to round up the members for the Gambols. One of the pieces is a parody of W. Somerset Maugham ("with apologies to Double U Somersault Mughn"). Undoubtedly rare and possibly a unique survival.

The cover also features a printed photograph of Gitz Rice in uniform with a facsimile inscription, reinforcing its wartime provenance. The interior pages show the original piano-vocal score, marked "Andante con espressione," with lyrics expressing longing, separation, and hope for reunion-hallmarks of WWI popular music.
