Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book studies the Greek sources of Cicero's philosophical text, the Dream of Scipio. The author examines the literary heritage of the text and discusses how it was influenced by Plato, particularly the Republic and Timaeus. The author concludes that Cicero borrowed scientific knowledge and philosophical ideas from Plato but modified and simplified them in the process. The significance of this study lies in its contribution to our understanding of the transmission of Greek thought in Roman literature, specifically how Cicero adapted Platonic philosophy to make it more accessible to a Roman audience.
