The boards are flat, with wobbly front from damage to hinge, lightly faded tail edge. Very slight tanning to end papers. The text block is tightly bound, even and with tanned cut edges. Illustrated in black and white and colour frontispiece. Very good condition. No dedications etc. With very good pictorial dust jacket showing girl in plaits with teacher to front with red and blue titles. The jacket is clean and with chips and small and open and closed tears on the top and tail edges. Not price clipped. In removable protective sleeve.

Jacket has one inch closed tears on either side at the top corners the front panel with another smaller closed tear at the centre of the top edge. Chipping and tearing to the corners and a few light marks to the rear panel. Coloured frontispiece and four black and white illustrations by Vernon. First printing.

Chipping and tearing to the corners and a little discolouration to the rear panel. Coloured frontispiece and four black and white illustrations by F. Stocks May.
