Trauliche Schreiben an ihren Gatten, den Architekten Carl Witzmann, von einem Aufenthalt im Robert Koch-Spital, dem heutigen Kaiser Franz Josef-Spital: "[.] Ich habe hier 3 Zimmerkolleginnen lauter Beamtinnen die eine hat schon den ganzen Tag Wein getrunken u. uns immer lange Zähne gemacht [.]" (a. d. Karte v. 13. V. 1943). - Carl Witzmann war neben seinem Lehrer Josef Hoffmann oder Oskar Strnad einer der profiliertesten Architekten und Kunstgewerbler seiner Zeit, erzielte bereits 21jährig einen "ersten durchschlagenden Erfolg" (Österr. Pers.-Lex., s.v.) mit einer Ausstellung in Turin und schuf für die große Kunstschau 1908 aus Anlaß des 60jährigen Thronjubiläums von Kaiser Franz Josef ein vielbestauntes Musikzimmer (vgl. Forsthuber, Moderne Raumkunst, S. 129). Seit 1912 Lehrer und Professor an der Kunstgewerbeschule, war Witzmann nebenher auch ständig für die Wiener Werkstätte tätig (für die er vornehmlich Interieurs entwarf) und beschickte die Weltausstellungen in Paris 1925 und 1937 ebenso wie die Österreichischen Ausstellungen in London (1935) und Paris (1936).
