Oblong, 4to., 230 x 295, in a contemporary Victorian publisher's binding of green pebbled-grained cloth, blocked and gilt, floral patterned endpapers, red edges. New York: William T. Comstock, 1883. Second Revised Edition of this extremely scarce and valuable document for the study of colours for late Victorian homes. Also included is the treatment of "old styles of houses," with special directions applicable to each example. The work contains separate chapters on colour, and on the preparation, use and application of colours. Each plate is described in letterpress on the verso of the preceding page. Slight damage to front and rear free endpapers, otherwise a fine copy.
