Bon Très curieuse et délirante lettre deGeorges Rouault : "Etes-vous peintre, Monsieur Pierre et pauvre ou riche pèlerin sur cette terre de misère ?A quoi rime cette habitude d'autographe ? je vous le demande et pourquoi voulez vous, si mes oeuvres ou oeuvrettes vous plaisent que je signe ce papelard indigent ? Il vaut mieux revoir cette revue Point où vous avez pu faire ma connaissance, je pense, peut-être bien ? [.]". Il évoque "Soliloques" et "Ides et Calendes" et ajoute "Je me suis confessé picturalement cent fois, mille fois mieux même si je suis mécontent souvent de mes oeuvres, qu'avec des écritures car je ne suis pas écrivain. Dans "Soliloques" cependant il y a plus de deux cent pages, vers et proses et une trentaine de Claude Roulet - mais je répète, je ne suis pas là dans mon ordre pictural mais je crois qu'avec ce livre on me connait sans m'avoir vu. Je fus culotté de bonne manière mieux que vieilles pipes de mon père grand, par vents et marées contraires, sur cette planète héritiers présomptueux de mon manager trépassé, iconoclastes maintenant partis, trusts anciens jamais abolis, enfin toute la lyre mes tourments individuels [.]. Le premier peintre qui me montra la peinture en certaine directive parfois comme un terrible exercice assez incompris souvent loin des inamovibles d'Institut, section bozarts, portait votre nom et était je pense de votre pays [.]".
