Paperback. Zustand: New. Print on Demand. This book is a comprehensive analysis of the inoculability of phthisis (tuberculosis) â" a commonly fatal disease during the mid-19th century. The author investigates whether tuberculosis can be transmitted from humans to animals. This book details numerous experiments conducted on rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, and sheep, and presents their outcomes. Granulations, a type of lesion characteristic of tuberculosis, were taken from patients and injected into these animals. In many cases, the animals developed tuberculosis, leading the author to conclude that the disease is indeed inoculable. This work challenges the prevailing beliefs of the time and pushes the boundaries of scientific understanding of tuberculosis. Its impact on the field is significant, as it provided crucial evidence for the infectious nature of the disease and paved the way for further research on its transmission and prevention. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
