Clarke Hook's characters Jack, Sam, and Pete. The Boy' Friend Library was published by the Amalgamated Press between 1906 until wartime paper shortages stopped printing in June 1940. The story papers were initially conceived as a vehicle for S. Clarke Hook's e popular Jack, Sam & Pete and eventually included adventures, school stories, historical fiction, crime, and science fiction by authors such as Jules Verne and Charles Hamilton.
