O medicamento tem de ser submetido a várias fases de rastreio por agências governamentais antes de ser colocado no mercado. A competência de um país como a Índia reside sobretudo no desenvolvimento de medicamentos genéricos a baixo preço. As nossas infra-estruturas e economia não nos permitem investir como os países ocidentais. A qualidade dos medicamentos produzidos na Índia não é de forma alguma inferior a qualquer dos medicamentos disponíveis a nível mundial. No entanto, a ironia da situação é tal que a Índia produz medicamentos da melhor qualidade para o mundo, não para si própria. Isto deve-se principalmente ao facto de não ter um padrão para si própria. Todos os países do mundo, desde mercados altamente regulamentados a mercados menos regulamentados, têm uma certa forma de directrizes para o registo dos medicamentos nos seus próprios territórios. Este trabalho actual propõe algumas directrizes que podem ser adaptadas pelas autoridades reguladoras indianas, de modo a melhorar a qualidade dos produtos farmacêuticos na Índia, de modo a cumprir as normas internacionais.…
