Saul was a well respected scientific instrument dealer known by many in the collecting community. Periodically he would publish a set of catalogs bound (as here) from remaining catalog stock, always in these sturdy red bindings. We've seen maybe a dozen sets in the last 20 years for sale. He listed these volumes under "IMPORTANT REERENCE BOOKS" at a not insignificant prices. In addition to annotated writeups, most scientific instrument entries include the shipping weight a tidbit not often found in catalogs.
