It runs to nearly 50 pages and reprints hearth-warming "Peanuts" cartoons and photos of his father shwoing his enjoyment of life. The essay was written in response to David Michaelis' biography of Charles Scultz, "Schulz and Peanuts". Monte Schulz met with Michaelis regularly in preparation for the biography and he and the family were extremely disappointed by Michaelis' emphasis, unfounded they thought, on Schulz's frequent states of depression and distance as a father. Monte tells many stories that show his father's joy in life and concern for his children. He is deeply disappointed that Michaelis did not include these stories.
