As territorial and state legislator, governor, and U.S. Senator, Thomas Wrothington was a dominant figure in early Ohio politics. Not until the publication of this biography have the life and activities of this man who led his state to membership in the United States been fully described and documented. As a member of the territorial legislature from 1799 to 1803, Worthington worked actively for the admission of Ohio into the federal union, and when this was achieved in 1803 he was elected senator for a four-year term. This volume offers learning and delight to any reader with curiosity about the American past. Included are footnotes, a selected bibliography, and an index. This copy is clean and solid. There is light shelfwear to the dust jacket, now in mylar.

Worthington worked hard for Ohio's admission as a state. He was a first state senator (2 terms) . He later served two terms as the state governor. He became an authority on land graft-from the Indians. He expelled many of the Indians and "made over mother nature to suit himself." There are some small pieces missing on the dust jacket - the corners and the tips of the spine. There is light rubbing to the corners of the book and to the tips of the spine but overall a very good condition. Shipping within the US would be no more $4.00 regular mail.
