Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. While the copyright page states that the book is a First Edition, the Number Line goes to 3, which indicates that it's a third printing. The signed inscription is on the first front end paper-- '6/21/14, To Stephanie-- may you take a wild ride looking through my book!!! Winney, Winney, Jim Dratfield.'-- I've confirmed that's how he signs (see photo) his name! You can see the covers of the book in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. The white lettering is nicely bright on both the front and spine. The edges and corners are in excellent shape. There appears to have been a bump to the rear side of the spine. It caused some crinkling there. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I didn't see any conspicuous creasing, no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings. There are no attachments. And the signed inscription is the only writing to be found anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It too is very clean, no soiling. There are no tears. There's a bit of the same crinkling at the bottom edge of the spine and just adjacent on the rear cover. There's a bit of a very light crease just off the front top edge. The flaps are in solid condition, just a little crinkling at the inside edge of the front flap. They are very clean. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. From the dust jacket: 'From the Old West legend of the weathered cowboy and his trusty horse to the urbane athleticism of the hunter and jumper, from the majestic mountains of Montana to the volcanic terrain of Iceland, horses are an integral part of everyday life for many people around the world. In these beautiful sepia-toned photographs, Jim Dratfield captures the spirit, strength, and nobility of horses. Paired with quotations that include everyone from James Thurber to Amelia Earhart, Henrik Ibsen to Lauren Bacall, and ranging from the inspirational to the absolutely hilarious, The Quotable Equine celebrates these magnificent animals. Jim Dratfield has traveled the world to capture in both candid and portrait photography the essence of the equine, in the most stunning settings, from dancing Andalusians in Spain to workhorses in Mongolia. Whether it's a child obstinately pulling her donkey, a horse running free in the wild, or an intense moment at an equestrian competition, the images in this book are charming, poignant, gorgeous, and sometimes amusing. The Quotable Equine pays homage to the timeless elegance of horses, to the many disciplines and sports built around them, and to all the people who love them.'. Jim Dratfield I didn't see any soiling at all. (illustrator). Inscribed by Author(s).…
