The aquatint plates in this copy are uncolored and the margins have been cut down, but the text is nice and clean and the impressions of the handsome plates are bright. A number of these Parisian landmarks no longer exist.…

The illustrations are contained within circular frames, giving one the sense of peering through a peephole or window, and somehow sharpening one's focus on the structure being portrayed as well.
