David Serette, a Maine printer often publishing as the Yellow Kid Press, and primarily pr…oducing miniature books. In the 1970s Serette was a member and printer at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker community but left, publishing an apostate, anti- Shaker magazine that lampooned and critiqued the community and Shaker practices. GOOD+ condition. Toning to the covers. Light bumping and scuffing along the extremities. Faint crease/wrinkle to the first page.

VERY GOOD+ condition, with very light fading and curling along the bottom edge. Box with some foxing and staining.

It appears that while 750 were printed in the original run (as a forerunner to Serette's Cherubikon), they were not bound until 1…982. The contents are the same as Cherubikon, but organized differently. Based on 17th Century woodcuts given to Serette by Fred Anthoensen (Southworth/Anthoensen Press). Seldom found with its original sleeve. A very handsome copy of this rather scarce volume. Upper tips gently bumped, else tight, bright and unmarred. Original folded sleeve shows light shelf/wear and soiling, else bright. Mustard yellow wraps, black ink lettering and decorative elements, printed endpages, frontispiece. Small 64mo. (1 5/8 x 1 15/16). 28pp. Illus. (color plates).
