Minor pest damage to rear board resulting in slight loss of finish and gilding; minor splits starting at heads of joints. Slight waving to vellum on front board. Text block with light plus age toning, increasing to moderate at edges of pages, and light foxing. Text block with light plus waving. Pastedowns with several tears and separations from boards, along with minor pencil annotations. With a prize leaf tipped in opposite half title, printed and dated 1816, hand-inscribed to "Joannem Gottl. Henr. Reudler" and bearing the coat of arms of the city of Amsterdam. Vol. 2 ([4], 666, [110] pages). Boards and spine with significant tears and wrinkling to vellum, largely resulting from water damage. Large puncture to vellum at head of spine, exposing quires. Upper edge of all portions of volume--boards, endpapers, and text block--with significant damp staining and mildew damage, impacting text. Front pastedown with splitting and wrinkling.
