He helped found the German Democratic Party during the revolutionary days at the end of WWI, yet was a supporter of the Nazi government. Schacht served as the Currency Commissioner and President of the Reichsbank during the Weimar Republic and President of the Reichsbank 1933 - 1939 and as Minister of Economics, 1934 - 1937, after the Nazi Party rise to power. Simpson led the history department at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Very good copy of the first edition in a good dust jacket. The gilded printing on the spine is fading.
