Card Covers. Zustand: Very Good. This commemorative booklet was published to accompany an exhibition at Jersey's German Underground Hospital, marking its transformation from wartime relic to public heritage site. With a foreword by novelist Jack Higgins, it offers a concise yet evocative account of the hospital's construction by forced labour during the Nazi occupation of the Channel Islands (1940-1945). The text blends historical narrative with personal testimony, describing the harsh conditions endured by prisoners, the strategic importance of the tunnel complex, and the broader impact of occupation on Jersey's civilian population. Photographs and maps document the hospital's layout, medical equipment, and surviving artefacts, while the authors reflect on memory, trauma, and reconciliation. 48 pages, illustrated in colour throughout. Original printed card covers. Size: 20 x 21 cms. Category: Varied Booklets; Cosmo Books : 29 years on ABE, 47 years taking care of customers. A bookseller you can rely on.…
