From the Introduction: "The first part, dealing with Smith's adventures from 1596-1604, between the ages of 16 and 24, comprises the first 24 chapters of the narrative. The second part, comprising the last 8 chapers, treats in very summary fashion of the progress of colonization in Virginia, the Bermudas, New England, Guiana, the West Indies, and Barbados, during the five years that had elapsed since Smith wrote his 'Generall History of Virginia'; and concludes with a brief chapter describing the rise of piracy, which is becoming a thorny problem at the time." Slipcase is present and has the No. 9 handwritten on bottom of spine. Top of slipcase is free from rest but overall slipcase is tight and free of scuffing or major shelfwear.
