Billed as "The Only Band That Matters", they are considered one of the most influential acts in the original wave of British punk rock. Their third album, "London Calling", was later named the best album of the 1980s by Rolling Stone. Pennie Smith's first major photographic commission was to cover a 1970s Led Zeppelin tour. Having photographed rock musicians including The Rolling Stones, the Who, Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry, U2, Morrissey, the Stone Roses, Primal Scream, Manic Street Preachers, Radiohead, Blur, Oasis & The Strokes, she is recognised as one of the best in her field. First edition. An original poster from NME. Double sided. On one side is The Clash - a photo of the band taken by Pennie Smith in 1978. To the other side is Morrissey, photographed by Kevin Cummins in 1983, lying on the grass by a lake and looking surprisingly cheerful! The poster is 58cm x 41cm. It has been folded twice, and there are creases to the folds. Also a touch of edgewear to the edges of the poster. Overall in good, clean condition. .

From a 1978 black & white photograph taken by Pennie Smith during a photo session for the promotion of the band's second album Give 'Em Enough Rope (1978). A Russian propaganda poster was used as the photo's backdrop. GOOD CONDITION: surface creasing and scratches, egdewear, touch of waviness, overall a solid and bright vintage punk poster.
