El edificio institucional existente que se considera para el análisis energético anual se diseña además utilizando la Guía del Usuario del ECBC y la Norma ASHRAE 90.1, un código de conservación de la energía. Después de analizar los resultados de los tres casos respectivos, se encuentra que el edificio diseñado por el ECBC es más eficiente energéticamente, ya que consume un 10% menos de energía que el edificio institucional existente y un 0,6% menos que el edificio ASHRAE.
