November 1892. --- Diese Adresse ist als Anschrift von Theodore Spiering erwähnt im Werk "Meeting Louis at the Fair: The Projects & Photographs of Louis Clemens Spiering" von Carol S. Porter, St. Louis 2004, S. 23. --- Theodore Spiering spielte seit 1892 im erst 1891 gegründeten Chicago Symphony Orchestra auf einer Geige von 1729 des Geigenbauers Guarneri del Gesù (1698-1744), die er mit Hilfe des Violinisten und Dirigenten Joseph Joachim (1831-1907) erwerben konnte. --- Im Brief erwähnt er seinen erstes Konzert mit diesem Orchester und charakterisiert dieses. --- Theodore Spiering war ein Bruder des Architekten Louis C. Es ist ausgezeichnet, mit Ausnahme der Hörner und Posaunen [.]. Besonders die I. Geigen sind gut; ich glaube sechs Joachim-Schüler sind darunter. Steindel, der erster Cellist ist, spielt so schön wie früher. Der erste Flötist, Andersen, ist ein Bruder des Berliners. [.] Am 21. und am 26. spiele ich in St. Louis. Wenn das erste Konzert gut ausfällt, ich meine pecuinär, so reise ich auf zwei Tage zu meinem Mädchen nach New York. Ihr Geburtstag ist nämlich der 23. und so trifft es sich sehr gut.
