Peter Spencer Spokes was a renowned architectural historian, photographer, and regular contributor and eventual editor of 'The Berkshire Archaeological Journal'. His fascinating study of 'Coats of Arms in Berkshire Churches' was published in parts in the journal from Vol. 39, Part 1. (Spring, 1935) to Vol. 45, Part I, 1941. This is an incomplete set, lacking the part from volume 39, No. 2. This fascinating study of the 'Coats of Arms in Berkshire Churches' provides an accurate record and description of heraldic designs with accompanying short historical and genealogical notes.
