Hardcover (Original Cloth). Zustand: Very Good. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Fair. First Edition. Â'The Tale of the TubÂ' (with apologies to Jonathan Swift) is the amusing and instructive product of a new author-artist partnership. Geoffrey Ashe, scholar, teacher and author of tracts on Indian mysticism, has surveyed the art of bathing since prehistoric times with a twinkle in his eye and his tongue in his cheek. In the course of his research he has exploded historical myths and added to the store of knowledge on the subject. Sprod, an Australian with a sense of humour in the best tradition of Punch - to which he is a regular contributor - has captured the lighter side of the extraordinary techniques employed by human beings to keep themselves clean. In addition to its entertainment and educational value, 'The Tale of the Tub' includes a useful guide to the most interesting baths and spas in England and Wales.
