Hardcover. Zustand: Very Good. 1st Edition. Please see photos for condition details. Hardcovers, three volume set that have always been together, which is why we are selling them altogether. The conditions are similar with the exterior cloth showing some minor spotting and soiling. The blue cloth shows some fading on the spine and hinge in the dark orange cloth has some black areas in the exterior gutters, and the green copy also shows a bit of light fading on the edges. The interiors are all similar: no handwriting, no bookmarks, no library markings, no hinge issues. The text pages are all clean but all three books have foxing and browning to their end pages and opposite pastedowns. The first book contains 163 pages, second title 127 pages, and the third 165 pages (455 pages total of all 3 books). The price listed is for all three books as a set.…

This small 163 pp. very unique book, details the physical science of electricity & magnetism that led to the communication mediums of the telegraph, the telephone & Radio. All of which were memorialized at the 1933 CHICAGO WORLD'S FAIR. This book & others were part of the "CENTURY OF PROGRESS" series (the theme of that Fair -- being the Centennial of the city of Chicago that was founded in 1833). The Fair's logo is embossed on the front board & printed on the Title page. There is a prior owner's Blind Stamp in a blank space of the Title pg. AND pp. 57 AND pg. 155. Those as all blind stamps are barely visible, and obstruct no text. A prior owner's name is atop the first blank flyleaf, AND a previous owner's name & address are just inside the front board & just inside the rear board.
