Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Probable First Edition (NAP). This book was co-published simultaneously as 'The Psychotherapy Patient, Volume 11, Numbers 1/2 1999.' The book is in excellent condition. The covers are very clean. I don't see any soiling. There is little to no wear, just a little bit of crinkling around the spine ends. The cover edges look perfect. So do the corners. The page edges are very clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I'm not seeing any soiling. I'm not seeing any conspicuous creasing, no turned-down corners or placeholder creases. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. There is a short penned inscription on the blank first front end paper. It reads simply 'Your Loving Son-- Arthur.' There is no other writing to be found anywhere in the book. I'm fairly certain that the book was published without a dust jacket. There are no other copies for sale that have a dust jacket. The hardcover edition is fairly rare. When I purchased this book it had a plastic protective cover. I assume the previous owner placed it on the book. It fits quite nicely and likely deserves some of the credit for the excellent condition of the covers. I took it off to scan the photographs. Says Monique Savlin, editor of Voices: The Art & Science of Psychotherapy: 'A superb collection of essays exploring themes of the human condition both from clinical, pathological, and existential, philosophical, points of view. The relationships between awe, anxiety, panic, creativity and spirituality are discussed. None of us escapes the awesome responsibility of creating meaning in our lives-- with fear and trembling we go forward. In the words of one of the editors, Robert Marchesani, 'Therapy, then, becomes the place to free one's will and one's imagination, to discover that one does have a voice in this world, a voice that welcomes awe and survives its panic.' E. Mark Stern and Robert Marchesani have succeeded in creating an exciting new book for the field of psychotherapy.'.
