The Monteith Journal was created around 1965 as a vehicle of students at Monteith College, eventually serving as a springboard for members of the Detroit Artists' Workshop. Monteith College was founded in 1959 as an experimental college within Wayne State University, focusing on general education and the art of dialogue. Class sizes were small, and were often interdisciplinary. The college closed in 1978. GOOD condition. Some rusting and rust stains at the staples, with a small rust stain to the rear cover. Minor uneven toning.
