The striking Art Deco-influenced cover presents the dramatic interior of a church illuminated by stained-glass windows and a towering pipe organ, creating an evocative atmosphere that perfectly complements the song's nostalgic theme. The interior includes piano/vocal arrangement with ukulele chord diagrams, reflecting the instrument's enormous popularity at the dawn of the 1930s. Condition: Good+. Complete with all four pages present. The folded sheets have cleanly separated at the spine, though every page remains complete and can be easily stored or professionally rejoined if desired. By 1938, Bing Crosby had become one of the most influential entertainers in the United States, reshaping popular singing with his relaxed, intimate vocal style while dominating radio, recordings, and motion pictures. Publishers eagerly promoted songs through Crosby's name and likeness, knowing his endorsement could dramatically increase sales. The publisher, Santly-Joy-Select, was one of New York's active independent Tin Pan Alley firms, producing music that flowed from Broadway and Hollywood into American homes through radios and upright pianos. The beautifully balanced cover was designed by Sydney Leff, whose contribution deserves special attention. Between the 1920s and 1930s, Leff illustrated nearly 2,000 sheet music covers, creating artwork for songs by Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, and many of the era's leading composers. His commercial illustrations helped define the visual identity of American popular music during the golden age of Tin Pan Alley. Composer Lou Handman (1894-1956) was an American pianist and songwriter remembered for both novelty dance tunes and enduring popular ballads, collaborating widely across vaudeville and Broadway circles. Leo F. Reisman (1897-1961), pictured on the cover, was among the leading American dance-band conductors of the interwar period. His sophisticated orchestra became closely associated with hotel ballroom entertainment, radio broadcasting, and stylish society dance music during the height of the Jazz Age. Sydney Leff (1901-2005) was an American commercial illustrator active during the 1920s and early 1930s whose work appeared on numerous Tin Pan Alley sheet music covers during the height of the Jazz Age.
