The study applies ecological modernization theory as a framework to guide policy development and negotiation. Application of the framework finds that employers' organizations and trade unions are effective civil society advocates, but responding to the labour market implications of climate change is neither institutionally embedded nor prioritized. Included are case studies of climate change policy in six developed and two developing economies, as well as within organizations such as the European Union and the UNFCCC. The emergence of labour issues in formal climate agreements demonstrates the impact that climate change is having on the broader economy and employment, and the need for business and labour to take concrete action. Profit margin of lower belt collectors is found satisfactory, but due t…o high transaction cost of illegal export profit margin of Lichen collectors is found very low. Night halters have higher profit margins in comparison to non-halters and the number of former is increasing every year. Informal practices are found from NTFPs collection permit to their delivery to the Indian wholesalers. Average understanding level on regulatory, marketing and technical aspects is found higher in lower belt collectors than upper belt collectors; and forest night non-halters than forest night halters. For proper harvesting there is need of supply based regulatory system, proper allocation of property right and appropriate season/time and scientific methods of NTFPs collection. Likewise, policy needs attention on empowerment of collectors through formulation of cooperatives, trainings and flow of market information. 152 pp. Englisch.

This study covers all variable costs and benefits, and different sources and… sinks carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. If the comparison of net present values is limited to traditional benefits (i.e. income from crops and hay in cultivation, beef in pasture and timber in plantation), cultivation is the most profitable option, followed by pasture and plantations. Even after the inclusion of beef value, plantations could not compete with other land use systems. After the inclusion of greenhouse gas value, plantations were the most profitable option, followed by pasture and cultivation. These findings have some implications for attempts to increase the plantation estate to 3 million hectares by 2020, through policy frameworks such as the Australian Government s Vision 2020 . Therefore, this study has recommended several measures to increase the benefits from plantations.
