The Sound of Music began as a club for female impersonators run by "Celso" until Linda Barnhizer and Alan Naldrett convinced him that punk would bring a crowd and they started booking bands in the beginning of 1980.

For Harris, old reader and good friend, in case he ever runs out of reading matter. Ken." A nice association copy between Ross Macdonald and his longtime lawyer and friend. Kenneth Millar, signed "Ken" in this copy, used numerous pseudonyms over his career, including John Macdonald, John Ross Macdonald, and Ross Macdonald. These pen names, made up of popular Millar family names, were used to help avoid confusion between Kenneth and his wife, Margaret, who was also a mystery fiction author. Signed.

Paired with the publisher's first state dust jacket, $8.95 on front flap, touch of shelf wear, a near fine example. Inscribed on the front free endpaper: "December '74 / For Gregory Peck, thanks so much for a fine time in Minneapolis - Hope you enjoy the book. Regards, Thomas Gifford." Includes 13 pages with Gregory Peck's handwritten production notes. Gregory Peck purchased the film rights to this New York times best-selling thriller by Thomas Gifford in 1975. On the cover of the first paperback edition, the novel was announced as a "Major Motion Picture," but the movie never went into production. Sold at Heritage Auctions, Lot 89191, February, 2023. Signed.
