Merritt's first book and a classic of wild adventure and fantasy. DJ back & flaps laid in. Unfortunately, book was reprinted often with a 1919 date but no…indication that was a reprint, not a first, leading to considerable confusion. This copy has whitish smudges & fingerprints (?), bit of bubbling to cloth, couple small stains, etc on front cover, only a few smudges on back & spine. My name & date/place purchased (8/11/73, Cleveland) on ffep. Interior is fine - tight, square, unmarked. So, a fine interior book with only fair but solidly bound covers.
