Blue Cloth & 1/4 Black Leather. Zustand: Good (Church x-lib). No Jacket. Reprint. 228 pages; Original binding; written inside the front cover "No.78. Congregational library of Big-spring"--no other library marks; "First published about the year 1729" by the Bishop of London, Thomas Sherlock, D.D. This book is an interesting approach to whether the Disciples were guilty or not guilty of giving false evidence regarding the resurrection of Christ. A club of London lawyers engage in a mock trial, and the jury brings in a not guilty verdict. In the Sequel the author defends his position by new points raised in opposition. The author's writing is graceful and clear. Book's cover corners have moderate wear with a small amount of board showing; leather spine is in nice condition with some rubbing on the top; edges have darkened to a light tan color; pale foxing appears throughout and damp staining show on the upper corners on many pages, but most stains do not reach the printed text. Binding is sound, text is very legible, gilt spine lettering and lining is O.K.
