The unclipped dust wrapper has some tanning to the back panel but is still fine. The author recalls his childhood and upbringing in Yorkshire before the First World War. Includes much about cricket and is illustrated by the drawings of Bernard Hollowood, one time Editor of Punch. John Arlott the famous cricket commentator said of the author "Mr Thomson writes with a nostalgia, a wealth of anecdote, a warmth and heroic strain which, if we were not careful, would make Yorkshiremen of us all."
